A New Industry-Oriented Technique for the Wideband Characterization of Voltage Transformers

The constant increase of switching power converters in distribution and transmission grids pushes the need for harmonic measurements. Recent literature has shown that inductive Voltage Current Instrument Transformers (VTs CTs) can be used measurements, but their accurate frequency characterization involves use quite costly instrumentation. In this context, paper proposes an industry oriented technique medium voltage VTs, involving instrumentation that, typically, is present accredited laboratories or at VT manufacturers premises. fact, it requires generation only sine waves measurement of: i) ratio phase errors sinusoidal rated conditions, same prescribed by international standards, ii) with 7 V from up to first resonance frequency. proposed technique, named SINDICOMP-LV, been applied VTs validated INRIM reference system VTs.
